Building construction
Construction of homes and buildings using soil blocks and proven methods.

A builder who finishes, and tells you where the work stands
Homeowners, especially those abroad, worry that a build will stall or drift from the plan. Institutions need durable buildings on a budget. TpESTATE builds homes and buildings with soil blocks and local labour, and reports progress as the work goes on.
Who it is for
A fixed scope, a clear schedule and a crew that stays
We agree the design, scope and price first, then build and report progress, then hand over. At Kent a permanent, trained crew was hired on day one and kept for five years, housed, fed and given medical care, and can now train the crew for the next community. Nothing starts until you agree the plan.
- Scope, schedule and price agreed before work starts
- Soil-block walls dry-stacked onto natural stone foundations
- A permanent, trained crew rather than day labour
- Local timber: about 90% of the visible timber at Kent is Acacia mangium from Tonkolili
- Progress updates through the build
What you get
- Site management and construction
- Regular progress updates
- Warranty on structural work

- 01Agree the design, scope and price

Questions about Building construction
Do you build on my land?
Yes. TpESTATE will design a plan for your land, estimate the construction and build the house there, using its soil blocks.
How long does a build take?
It depends on the design and scope, and the schedule is set in the proposal before work starts. As a reference, TpESTATE's three-bedroom model house of about 1,500 square feet at Kent was 85% complete on day 35 of a 35-day target.
What do you build with?
Interlocking stabilised soil blocks made by TpESTATE, with 8–10% cement, dry-stacked onto natural stone foundations. At Kent the doors and windows are made by Sierra Leonean craftspeople.
Who does the building?
A permanent, trained crew. At Kent the crew was hired on day one and kept for five years, and can now train the crew for the next community.
Can I follow the build from abroad?
Yes. You receive regular progress updates through the build, so you do not need to be on site.
What kinds of building do you construct?
Homes for families and diaspora owners, and buildings for institutions such as classrooms, clinics and offices.
