Amadu Massally
Amadu Massally is TpGroup’s Chief Financial Officer and the founder and CEO of Fambul Tik. A CPA, systems auditor, author and cultural bridge-builder, he has spent two decades reconnecting Sierra Leone with the Gullah Geechee and wider African diaspora.
Profile
Amadu brings a finance and systems background to TpGroup. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), and as CEO of Gamut Consulting, LLC he helped Fortune 500 companies identify and implement the applications and technology infrastructure behind their sales, finance, operations and security functions. He studied at Morehouse College and the University of Massachusetts Boston, where he earned a degree in Management and Accounting.
In the United States he founded and chaired the Sierra Leone-Gullah Heritage Association (SLGHA) to reconnect African Americans of Sierra Leonean ancestry with their kin in Sierra Leone. He served as President of the Sierra Leone Network, sat on the boards of Young Leaders of Sierra Leone and Schools for Salone, and co-sponsored the Bunce Island exhibit that toured academic institutions across the US.
In 2009 he returned to Sierra Leone after twenty-six years abroad and founded Fambul Tik — Krio for “family tree” — which he leads as CEO. Fambul Tik runs heritage and roots journeys, including the Homecoming Tour, and has brought virtual study-abroad programmes to Sierra Leone for students who cannot travel.
He is also an author. His Gullah Geechee Trilogy braids memory, testimony and research to trace language, land and lineage across the Atlantic, and he writes regularly as Gambozo on Substack.
The Gullah Geechee Trilogy
The Gullah Geechee Trilogy — three books, one covenant of memory. Amadu writes with a documentarian’s ear and a griot’s cadence, restoring names and narratives to families separated by water and time.
